On Tuesday, September 9th we hosted a big PBS Event called Eat Smart for a Great Start! Orange County Public Schools is educating students on the benefit of a healthy diet with fruits and vegetables being featured as part of a delicious meal. OCPS is participating in this program to promote the OCPS wellness program to students and parents; to educate students on the value of eating more vegetables and fruits and to deliver the wellness message to students in a fun way with the help of PBS Kids.
Our school was selected to kick-off the national program. We had special guests at our school: Chef Jon Ashton, PBS Host Miss Rosa and Dash/Dot. We also had special OCPS guests at the school: East Area Superintendent Dr. John Edwards, School Board Member, Daryl Flynn and other employees from the district.
Bike Rodeo
On November 15, 2008, the Team 3 Juggernauts will be hosting and assisting Timber Lakes Elementary with a Bike Rodeo.
